Upcoming Events & Activities

There have been many developments around COVID-19, with the situation changing substantially over the weekend.

Following updated information from the Australian Government’s Department of Health regarding strategies to help slow the spread of COVID-19, VIEW National Executive has reviewed ongoing developments within Australia in relation to COVID 19, and upcoming VIEW events and activities.

Our overriding consideration is the health and well-being of our members, friends, partners and their families, and it is our responsibility to act calmly, and consistent with government and health authority advice. To have a VIEW Member contract this virus through attending a VIEW Club meeting must be prevented at all costs.

Many of our partner organisations have already cancelled up-coming group gatherings, and are encouraging people not to attend external events and to exercise “social distancing”. 

Consequently, in relation to the events listed below we make the following recommendations:

- VIEW Club monthly meetings including upcoming VIEW events, outings, activities, birthday events, etc.- in recognition of the composition of our VIEW membership and the nature and type of activity members engage in, to help reduce your risk of exposure, we are recommending that VIEW Clubs cancel their March, April, May and June meetings and any other VIEW events, outings, activities, birthday events, etc at this stage.

- 18 March 2020 - Ocean Grove Day and Point Lonsdale inauguration at Flying Brick Cider Co - event postponed

- 19 March 2020 - VIEW and The Smith Family meeting at Smith Family Melbourne office - meeting cancelled

- 2 April 2020 - Governor General 60th Anniversary Vice-Regal event at Yarralumla - event postponed

- VIEW Gala events in May and June – we recommendthat the organisers postpone these events until later in the year.

  • 2 May 2020 - Riverina, MIA, Snowy Mountain Foothills and South to Victorian border (NL) at Wagga RSL
  • 4 May 2020 - NSW South Coast Berry to Eden (NG) at Soldiers Club Batemans Bay
  • 7 May 2020 - NSW Northern Rivers (NJ) at South Tweed Sports
  • 15 May 2020 - Canberra and Surrounds (AA) at Hellenic Club Woden
  • 16 May 2020 - Hunter/Central Coast (NA) at East Maitland Bowling Club
  • 27 May 2020 - Macarthur, Southern Highlands & Illawarra region including Wollongong (NB) at Civic Centre Camden
  • 27 June 2020 - Lower Mid North Coast of NSW and Inland (NK) at Evermore Retirement Village Forster

- 14 June 2020 - National Council meeting at Sydney Mascot Sunday - meeting cancelled

- 23 July 2020 - Sydney 60th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee events at Sydney Masonic Centre - currently reviewing this event
