National Convention 2019

We are pleased to announce the 54th VIEW National Convention will be held on the Sunshine Coast, QLD from 13 - 15 September 2019.

We want you to come and join in the fun and excitement ….

National Convention is conducted over 3 days, Friday to Sunday, and provides VIEW members, their friends and others interested in attending with:

  • An opportunity to hear from prominent speakers on a broad range of topics;
  • A forum for debating issues of national importance;
  • An ability to hear about the achievements of VIEW and their work within communities.
  • An opportunity for members to celebrate their contribution to supporting the education of disadvantaged Australian children 
  • Plus much, much more……

Open only to Past and Present Executive, Past and Present Senior Officers (National & Zone Councillors) or by invitation only.

Time: 7.00pm to 10.00pm

Location: Novotel Twin Waters Resort - Lily’s on the Lagoon

This is an intimate sophisticated dinner for VIEW leaders, past and present to catch up with fellow past and present Senior Officers and VIEW friends.
Lily’s on the Lagoon is an overwater function venue with stunning lagoon views.

Forum of Inspirational Australians

Location: Novotel Twin Waters Resort - Wandini Conference Room

The official opening of Convention. Updates are given by local dignitaries, The Smith Family CEO, VIEW Executive celebrating VIEW’s achievements and its work in local communities, also hear from a Learning for Life Student.

An opportunity to pick up a great memento from one of the many craft and artisan stall holders at Expo. 

The highlight of the day is a Panel of Inspirational People. 

Come and hear from a broad range of speakers. In the past we have had social commentators, comedians, actors, and people of interest in the community from rural and urban areas.

 

Price includes forum, buffet lunch and light beverages incl. tea & coffee.

“Back to the Beach” Party - $90

Location: Novotel Twin Waters Resort - Lorikeet Beach

Come and get the sand between your toes on the tranquil shore of the saltwater lagoon. Think “Gidget”, surfing, music, beach balls, bikini brigade and sea shells by the sea shore, Gilligan’s Island, Robinson Crusoe, Under the deep blue sea, Octopus Garden and so on... Enjoy some great entertainment, have lots of fun in a beautiful setting dancing beside the lagoon….guaranteed you will have - a whale of a time!

This evening honours the ‘Creepy and Kooky, Mysterious and Spooky’ - Step out of your comfort zone and use your creativity and imagination. Think superstitions: Don’t walk under ladders, beware of black cats, Witches and Wizards, “Double, double toil and trouble, fire burn and caldron bubble”, dragons and goblins “Casper the friendly ghost”, Monster mash, and lucky charms – four leaf cover, rabbit’s feet …and so on …
Ready those feet for a night of wicked dancing and frightening fun.

Saturday 14 September – Conference Day 2

Voice of VIEW and “Writer’s Festival” - $95

Time: 9:30am - 3:30pm

Location: Novotel Twin Waters Resort - Wandiny Conference Room

Commencing with a prominent Australian, this is the day where VIEW members are able to raise their voice on issues of national importance. 
Enjoy the Writer’s Festival featuring well-known authors and facilitated by an entertaining personality. The afternoon session concludes with special award presentations and announcements for 2020-21.


Price includes buffet lunch and light beverages incl. tea & coffee.

Sunday 15 September - Grand Celebration

Free event 

Time: 10:00am - 11:30am

Location: Pacific Paradise State School, 14-24 Menzies Drive, Pacific Paradise, QLD 4564

The grand finale to our National Convention. A wonderful opportunity to enjoy inspirational local talent, take part in a morning of reflection and bid your VIEW friends farewell.

A delicious morning tea will be provided by local VIEW members following the event.

Open to all in the community, so bring your family and friends.

 

 

 

 

How to Book

Convention registrations are to be booked through OzAccom+. A registration fee of $25.00 for members and non-members is applicable for every registration, regardless of the number of events attended.

All members and non-members must submit their Registration Form to OzAccom+, not VIEW National Office.

Clubs may choose to book together or members may book individually, as long as there is a unique registration form for each attendee. Club Booking Coordinators are advised to photocopy all information for each member registering, and send a club cheque along with Club Registrations to OzAccom+.
