BATEAU BAY VIEW CLUB 21ST BIRTHDAY
[L-R] Nita Longworth, Betty Andrews, Carol Ankrett and Maureen Hartridge (PNP 2004-05)
2022 August
On Tuesday August 2nd Bateau Bay VIEW Club celebrated their 21st Birthday Luncheon at The Entrance Leagues Club and The Smith Family’s 100th Anniversary. Sixty were in attendance at this special celebration which included members and their guests, representatives from Brisbane Evening, Kincumber and Toukley VIEW Clubs as well as members from Soroptomists International.
Anne-Louise O’Connor (Past National President 2020-21) gave an update on what is happening with VIEW, read a Thank you letter from Fiona Coluccio, The Smith Family General Manager NSW, for the contribution made to The Smith Family Winter appeal and then read a story from Real People, Real Stories.
The theme for the day was The Roaring 20’s, with so many attending dressing for the occasion. The birthday cake was cut by three foundation members Betty Andrews, Carol Ankrett and Nita Longworth along with Maureen Hartridge (Past National President 2004-05) who was present when Bateau Bay VIEW Club was formed.
A competition was held for the best dressed which was won by Elaine Scrivener from Toukley VIEW Club and the winner for the 100 year Spectacles was Carol O’Reilly from Bateau Bay VIEW Club.
Members and guests were entertained by Wayne Rogers Entertainer/Impersonator who put on an awesome performance.
What an enjoyable day it was with the room full of friendship, chatter and laughter. Bateau Bay VIEW Club currently sponsors three junior and three senior students in the Smith Family Learning for Life Program.
Eighteenth Birthday Celebrations
Bateau Bay recently celebrated its 18th birthday with a rainbow theme. The tables and the magnificent birthday cake were decorated in colours of the rainbow and everyone dressed in bright colours. All our sponsors for the raffle had been very generous and the prizes were amazing.
All birthdays are special, and it was heart-warming to see so many ladies from other clubs on the Central Coast and Hunter attending.
We believe that it is important that we support each other as much as possible at these functions. Sharing ideas, fun and laughter is a major factor in making these birthday celebrations successful.
