A valued part of The Smith Family

Bellinger Valley VIEW Club

Bellinger Valley VIEW Club was formed in 1985.

We are an enthusiastic and friendly group of women who provide support and friendship for each other while promoting the work of The Smith Family. Our club raises funds to proudly sponsor five disadvantaged students on the Smith Family's Learning for Life program. We take pride in hearing about their educational journeys and achievements. A number of members tutor school children with reading at the local primary school. This is greatly appreciated by the school community.

In addition to our meetings we also enjoy social outings, such as bus trips, morning teas, croquet, soup and slice days, Kegel bowling.

2019 International Women’s Day Morning Tea

The Bellinger Valley VIEW Club held an International Women’s Day Celebration on Friday March 8th at the Cedar Bar in Bellingen. We were excited to have so many ladies attending our event with guests from VIEW Clubs in our region including Bonville-Boambee, Urunga, Nambucca/Macksville, and Korora View. Also attending were members of the Bellingen Australian Red Cross, Bellingen CWA and Bellingen Lyons Club.

Our stimulating Guest Speaker was Andrea Cross from the Coffs Harbour Business and Professional Women’s Network which is an advocate for women in the workplace. This organisation is raising awareness in the workplace for women suffering from domestic violence, and women wishing to breastfeed their babies at work. They also advocate for women who lack enough superannuation upon their retirement due to child rearing, illness or having to look after elderly parents.

Successful Cake Stall

The Bellinger Valley VIEW Club conducted a street stall on September 8th. It was enjoyable to greet shoppers in Bellingen on a Saturday morning  as we sold home made goods such as cakes, jams and biscuits as well as home grown produce. All the money raised goes towards sponsoring our Learning For Life students so that they can obtain a good education.

What a wonderful Melbourne Cup Day celebration we all had on Tuesday November 6th. Bellinger Valley VIEW Club members and friends gathered to celebrate the excitement of the “race that stops the nation”. The ladies donned straw hats and vied to win first prize, whilst the men did the difficult job of judging. Colleen Monckton won first prize, Gina Troy won second, and Gail Raymond, third.

Winners -  Gail on the left, Colleen in the centre, and Gina on the right.
