2022 March International Women's Day
The IWD held on 24 March 2022, hosted by NA02 clubs Branxton, Denman and Muswellbrook was a great success.
MC for the day, NA02 ZC, Dianne Whitten coordinated two of the speakers Tracey Ward on Sustainability and Marina Lee-Warner on Homelessness on two of the VIEW Clubs resolutions.
Anne-Louise O’Connor, PNP, spoke about VIEW, The Smith Family and the work we do supporting disadvantaged Australia children with their education saying there was a need to ‘Break the Bias’, the theme for IWD, early.
Simone Bailey talked about the challenges of getting her first book published, she has since written three books, and Amelia Berasconi, Upper Hunter ABC radio breakfast announcer, spoke of the importance of keeping the local community informed on importance issues.
All in all a great day, with VIEW members from Branxton, Denman, Muswellbrook, Redhead and Wangi Wangi as well as many guests attending, full of friendship and fun.
A big thank you to NA02 for hosting such a wonderful day.

A wonderful VIEW experience
Monday, 10th September, saw the culmination of many months of planning by the Branxton Greta Business Chamber for the Branxton Greta Memorial Cycleway project. His Excellency General David Hurley AC, DSC (Retired), Governor of New South Wales and his wife Mrs Linda Hurley visited Branxton Community Hall for a very special morning tea.
Branxton VIEW Club and the Branxton Greta CWA were invited to prepare and present morning tea for the many distinguished guests with our VIEW ladies wearing their VIEW polo shirts with pride. Many local organisations, ex-servicemen and women and local schools were represented-such a wonderful community event for our local villages. School children presented vocal histories of the many local service men and women who lost their lives and who will be remembered by the memorial cycleway and walk from Branxton War Memorial to Greta War Memorial.
NA National Councillor, Anne-Louise O’Connor also met many guests and noted that our Branxton VIEW ladies did not drop a plate or spill a thing! She said that she was so very proud of all the Branxton VIEW ladies who assisted on the day, not only preparing the morning tea but also manning the door as guests arrived.
This was a memorable occasion in many ways - embracing the very essence of VIEW - fun, friendship and making connections - making a difference and one that Branxton VIEW club ladies will always remember.
