29th Birthday Celebrations
At the October meeting members dressed in bright colours to celebrate 29 years of Korora VIEW Club. Everyone was treated to an assortment of Lindt chocolates as a birthday gift, and the day proved to be a huge success.
We were also fortunate to have a fascinating guest speaker, Professor and Historian Lynda Garland. The meeting was followed by a delicious luncheon and a beautiful birthday cake made by our club's Program Officer Bronwyn.
A Visit to Historic Bellingen
It was another wonderful social day in August when members, and an uninvited guest enjoyed lunch at The Old Butter Factory in the small town of Bellingen, on Waterfall Way.
Welcome Back Dianne

The Smith Family 100 Year Celebration
A fun time was had by all who attended the 100 Year Celebration of The Smith Family held in June at the beautiful home of Vice President Carol.
The party atmosphere saw members dressed as flappers wearing feather boas, lace gloves, beads, head pieces and fishnet stockings! Surprisingly, on a very chilly day, President Julianne donned a 1920’s bathing suit, but soon resorted to her knitted jumper.
May’s Fundraiser
Our May meeting, and a pre-celebration for Mother’s Day, was a huge success both financially and socially. As a major fundraiser our wonderful members came along with basket loads of donations for the Jumble Sale.
Guest speaker Chris Blamey, President of the Friends of the South Solitary Island Lighthouse Association, spoke about the history of the lighthouse. Chris had so many stories from the early 1880’s and beyond he had us all sitting on the edge of our chairs wanting to learn more about the lighthouse, the living conditions on the island and the current restoration program.
