2018 September

"It's been a busy few weeks for the Moree Day VIEW Club. At our September meeting, we were joined by National Councillor Beryl Pike who spoke to our members in relation to various matters and then presented two of our members, Mary Storck and Margaret Lloyd, with long service pins.

Then in the second week of October, we went on our annual mystery bus tour. On this occasion we visited the Blair Athol Boutique Hotel & Day Spa at Inverell where we were treated to a morning tea in the stunning gardens, followed by a tour of the historic property and the new purpose-built Day Spa. We all had a great time at this very pretty and tranquil spot. Of course the day wouldn't have been complete without some retail therapy and a nice lunch so it was on to the Inverell shopping district for the rest of the trip."

2018 Moree Day VIEW Club Turns 45

Members of the Moree Day VIEW Club celebrated the Club’s 45th anniversary at their monthly lunch on 22 August.  A fun time was had by all with club members participating in a variety of activities including a trivia quiz and egg and spoon race. The Club was originally formed in 1973 with the inaugural meeting being held on 7 August 1973.  In its halcyon days, the Club boasted a membership of over 100 local ladies but as with all Clubs, changes in society have led to the current number of members being much lower.

Mystery Bus Tour

"The Moree Day VIEW Club recently had their annual Mystery Bus Tour. On this occasion, club members visited the Wyoming Lavender Estate at Mount Russell, followed by shopping and lunch in Inverell. Everyone had a great day.

Our charming hosts at the Lavender Estate, Sharyn and Dan, provided a lovely morning tea and told us about their farming activities and also the music festival held there on the October long weekend. We all then enjoyed browsing amongst the goodies in the old shearing shed which now operates as a small shop.

Many thanks to our program officer, Mary, for organising such an enjoyable day."

Another successful fashion parade 2017

"A Fashion Parade was held in May featuring new season clothing from local stores in Moree.  It was a very successful day with substantive funds being raised for our Learning for Life students. The event was open to the public and everyone had a great day and enthusiastically joined in the fun. The clothes, including sleepwear and dressing gowns, were very capably modelled by Club members.  We would like to thank Millers, Rockmans and Target for their generous support and assistance in making the day such a success."

Rewarding Year

Members of the Moree Day VIEW Club had a very rewarding and enjoyable year during 2016.

Highlights included a morning tea to celebrate International Women's Day in March, a Fashion Parade in May with over 60 local ladies in attendance, birthday celebrations in August which featured some “armchair travel” to Holland, a mystery bus tour in October which included a trip to the cinema, and a fun Christmas lunch in December.

Most members attended all of these events and from all accounts, a wonderful time was had by all.  The programme for 2017 includes similar events.
