A valued part of The Smith Family

Arana VIEW Club

Arana VIEW Club was formed in 1997.

We currently sponsor 14 Learning for life students. We hold regular sausage sizzles at our local Bunnings store and have a “Make, Bake and Grow” table at our March, June, August and November meetings to raise funds for our Smith Family Learning for Life students. We also have social activities each month, including movie and coffee mornings, or trips to different venues.

We are always open to new members, so please get in touch today and come and see what it's all about.

 Great Start to 2019

At our AGM the committee was re-elected - same as last year.

March   Our guest speakers were 2 police officers, which was very appropriate for International Women’s Day.

Our birthday celebrations were fun. “April Showers” was appropriate as we had showers all day! The umbrellas were decorated amazingly. The entertainment (Romeo and Juliet) had members up dancing and cutting the cake finished off a great day.

                                                               Ten year Badge Recipents

Back - Diane Bender and Lindsay

Front - Pat Yates and Bernie Mayers

We have had many social activities as well  A cruise on the Brisbane River, and some visits to interesting cafes/gift shops included Soul Pantry at Stafford and Vend at Virginia. Great days out.

Several of our members attended the Zone IWD at Rydges, Southbank.

Exciting Four Months for Arana

Arana members enjoyed a bus tour to the Carnival of Flowers in September,

attended Twin Waters' Birthday celebrations in November and

also did high tea on the Kookaburra Queen in November.

A bonsai talk and demonstration were a highlight of the September meeting.

Our guest speakers in November were Loretta Ryan and Craig Zonka who gave a lively humorous talk . Craig arriving in the strawberry costume  from the promotion of strawberry ice-creams after the needle scare provided just the right atmosphere.

The Christmas meeting had a winter wonderland theme and members were asked to wear white and silver.

Each table made a snowman with the items provided and the results were interesting and provided plenty of laughs.
