Arana VIEW Club was formed in 1997.
We currently sponsor 14 Learning for life students. We hold regular sausage sizzles at our local Bunnings store and have a “Make, Bake and Grow” table at our March, June, August and November meetings to raise funds for our Smith Family Learning for Life students. We also have social activities each month, including movie and coffee mornings, or trips to different venues.
We are always open to new members, so please get in touch today and come and see what it's all about.

Arana's Committee for 2020
End of 2019
We at Arana VIEW club saw 2019 out with a fun filled Christmas Party. The Committee provided the entertainment with a “Beach Party” themed day. Judy and Shelia provided lots of laughs with their skit to the music “please don’t talk to the lifeguard” as did Bonnie and Chris with their interpretation of Mr Bean’s day at the beach. Somehow Bonnie managed to change into the swimmers. Then the committee performed several very unco-ordinated surfing dances. It was recommended that they don’t give up their day jobs!! As a fun exercise each table had to decorate a member as a Christmas tree using the items provided. The photos show the creativity!
We also joined the other VIEW clubs in our zone for Christmas gift wrapping at Stafford City Shopping Centre for the Smith Family.
Other activities at the end of the year were a visit to the Police museum where members enjoyed an informative talk about investigations by detectives.
Several members attended the Lord Mayor’s Christmas Concert as well in early December.
Arana members enjoyed trying on spring fashions at the September meeting. Fashions were by Michelle K Gifts and Boutique.
The elegant models, Sheila, Val, Sandra, Debbie and Glen did an awesome job on the catwalk.
Arana members also attended the 2019 VIEW Convention held at Twin Waters on Queensland's beautiful Sunshine Coast during September.
The Mystical Masquerade Ball was a highlight of the event and members donned their beautiful masks for the occasion.
Our club has had a busy and interesting few months. Our guest speakers have been exceptional and diversified so there has been something to interest all members.
In May we had Heather Turner from the Mission to Seamen in Brisbane, in June Barry Collis from Angel Flight gave us an insight into their work and in July our speaker was Deb Frecklington, Leader of the Opposition in the Qld Parliament, who gave us an insight into her family life in Kingaroy and her belief in the diversity of regional communities. Sean Lues kept everyone enthralled in August with his travel stories experiences in Africa and other parts of the world.

Arana VIEW July, Guest speaker Deb Frecklington with Jan and Lyndsay
Socially, several of our members attended the Walk with VIEW in Sandgate, always an enjoyable day and also attended Redcliffe VIEW’s high tea and fashion parade in August. Many of our members had lunch at the Mt Coot-the Summit restaurant and George’s Paragon restaurant on the river in the city. We do like our coffee mornings and lunches and will have some culture in between when we visit the Margaret Olley Exhibition at the Gallery of Modern Art (followed by lunch of course!).
We have welcomed several new members in the last few months and we hope they enjoy the friendship and social activities.
