2020 Caboolture Committee

July 2020

A Message From Your Committee—submitted by Jan

Hello Everyone, the days and weeks seem to be just passing by so quickly now, which  probably means I’ve settled into a restful and comfortable existence  at home, just when restrictions are beginning to lift, and we are able to venture out more, and  able to be with family and friends, albeit on a limited basis. How about you? I’m sure it won’t take me long to generate enthusiasm for VIEW,  and again enjoy sharing the monthly meetings in such wonderful company.

How are you all faring, and have you made the necessary adjustments in this new world, without too many difficulties?  Have you found you have hidden talents? Cooking, sewing, writing, gardening maybe? When we meet again, perhaps we can share with each other how we passed the time.  A “ Show and Tell” sounds good!

I’m thinking to be able to transverse Covid 19 successfully. We need to take it slowly, and in stages,   and not to expect to  carry on where we left off. Be guided by the health professionals and maintain the pre-determined advice. Things will be different!

In the meantime, let’s continue to maintain contact by telephone or email, and of course through the monthly newsletter.

Your committee has been meeting also on a monthly basis for some time now, busy planning for our eventual return to VIEW Club. With such uncertainty hovering, its been difficult to make firm decisions. We are so looking forward to meeting up again and preparing to make this a joyous occasion.

Stay safe.

Yours in VIEW friendship

Adrienne, Esther, Genevieve, Rose, Chris, Sue W,  Sue S, Irene, Bev, Pam and Jan

February 2020

For our February outing, members enjoyed a delicious morning tea at the Lagoon Creek Cafe and Function Centre, which is a  co-operative giving folks with different abilities a chance at  worthwhile employment.

November 2019 Outing

Caboolture View Club Outing on 7th November was to the Beach House Beechmere.  A fabulous day was had by all at the beautiful Beach House overlooking the water.
Twenty members attended, and Ann McKenna took the prize for the best hat.  We had several fun games, and lots of laughs. Finger food lunch consisted of a nice selection of sandwiches, buffalo wings, sausage rolls, a delicate mix of sweets and fresh fruit to finish.
All in all, a good day was had.
Special thank you to Sue and her assistants for their efforts and planning, resulting in a very successful event.
