Centenary Evening VIEW Club

About

Centenary Evening VIEW club was formed in 1994. We are a lively and vibrant club with around 54 members.

Centenary Evening has a triple Focus - fun friendship and fundraising for disadvantaged students in The Smith Family's Learning for Life program. We will be supporting eleven  students this year.

We enjoy lots of varied trips and outings. Our monthly Coffee and Chat mornings are extremely popular.

Several fund raising events are held in members' homes, such as high teas and Melbourne Cup parties..

Every December finds the Centenary girls Christmas wrapping in shopping centres. This is a fun way to raise much needed funds.

We are always delighted to welcome new members, so please get in touch and come and see what we're all about.

2021 July

A highlight of the month was a major “Meat Tasting” fundraiser. Sixty members and friends tasted and reviewed several samples of lamb. It was a most enjoyable and social morning and a wonderful way to raise funds for our learning for life students.

We chose a beautiful day for our “Walk with VIEW”. Not so many participants this year but plenty of enthusiasm. Non walkers met us at our destination- a coffee shop, of course!

The masked walkers prepare to stride out.

2021 May Update

Barefoot bowls has become a popular event on our VIEW calendar. The socialising afterwards is always fun. Everyone enjoys the sausage sizzle as much as the bowls.

Linda, Julie and Moya love their barefoot bowls.

Four bowls enthusiasts enjoy the post bowls socializing.

2021 June

Senior Sergeant Donna was our very interesting and informative guest speaker in June, regaling us with tales from her time as a police forensic scientist. She was thanked by our member Detective Inspector Mel. Both these ladies are Aides-de-camp to the governor of Queensland.

2021 April "Girls Night In" Fundraiser

April was definitely International month for Centenary Evening. Our annual “ Girls Night In” fundraiser had an Italian theme.

We all enjoyed a balmy evening on the deck enjoying good company and delicious Mediterranean food.

The International theme continued at our “Out to lunch” event. 20 members enjoyed the Greek fare at “Kafe Meze” in Graceville. The warm and friendly owner taught us some Greek words and generously donated a voucher to be used as a raffle prize.
