2020 March - "If Only!"
What will I do when I can’t go to VIEW?
Self Isolate they say!
IF ONLY I could KNIT, I could create beanies, scarves, mittens and socks.
IF ONLY I could SEW, I could do the mending and then maybe a dress or two.
IF ONLY I could BAKE, I would make masterpieces with flour and icing.
What wonders to behold.
If ONLY I could PAINT. With easel and smock, brushes and paints.
What beauty I could create
IF ONLY I could work at CRAFT. The possibilities are boundless I could
cut and paste. Assemble and decorate cards.
I know what I can do when I can’t go to VIEW
CLEAN
Yes, I will clean, tidy and throw things away
Rooms full of drawers and cupboards.
When I run out of rooms, there is always the garage.
Ah, so many boxes.
Yes that is what I can do when I can’t go to view
What will you do when you can’t go to VIEW?

Our 10th Birthday coming up in August
Welcome 2020
Robina VIEW Club is off to a good start for 2020. All Committee positions were filled and two members received service badges from National Councillor Evelyn Berg
Jen Newham – President 2019 has been there since the beginning - 2010. and said “It’s a wonderful Organization raising money to assist in Australian Kids education and well-being and I am proud to be a member of Robina VIEW Club”
Janice Foster received her 25 year badge and said
“Over the years I have made lasting friendships through this organization. It is great to get together, have some fun, hear interesting speakers. Participating on committees has helped me to develop in many ways. In my opinion VIEW provides a platform for women of all ages to feel they are contributing to helping Australian children in need as well as enjoying life just a bit better.”
If you would like to find out more about Robina VIEW Club please phone Gail on 0432 382 665.
Robina VIEW Club is preparing for its 10th year supporting the Smith Family “Learning for Life” program. We have plenty of fun activities, interesting speakers and friendly get-togethers planned for members’ enjoyment whilst at the same time we raise funds to support our 10 “Learning for Life”students. If you are wondering whether you would like to join us, please do! With over 100 current members you are sure to make new friends and through membership, you can participate in supporting our sponsored young peoples’ education.
To give you an idea of the fun we have, below are some of the events that we held during 2019.
Christmas 2019 Celebrations
Whip Cracking
A daylong bus trip into the Gold Coast Hinterland to visit an historic house and winery included morning tea and lunch as well as some surprises as we watched working dogs round up sheep and were given a lesson in whip cracking!
Ninth Birthday Celebrations
The theme for our 9th Birthday Party was “Come Fly With Me”. Members dressed is the clothing of their favourite country to visit and were ‘processed’ through an improvised airport as they made their way to their seats. The photo shows our two flight attendants (committee members) who entertained us with a witty script. A travel trivia quiz, a paper plane throwing competition, music and dancing as well as a tasty lunch made the party highly enjoyable.
High Tea
Several Club members enjoyed a sumptuous High Tea on the top floor of one of the Gold Coast’s resorts!
