In the words of Lorraine Thomson NC Area QC01

I enjoyed a great night at Toowoomba Evening VIEW listening to the two guest speakers representing The Smith Family, Amanda Montgomery, Family Partnership Coordinator and Liza Hood, Programs Coordinator as they presented a synopsis of their amazing work with schools, students and families in the Toowoomba Community.

Both ladies spoke with passion to The Smith Family Team, supporting 609 students in the Toowoomba Community across 283 families.  They support a diverse range of students with families identifying from many different cultural backgrounds and of the 609 students, 217 identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.

There are 11 partner schools in the Toowoomba Region, and of the 609 students, 407 are currently attending a partner school, with 75 schools in total that their students attend.

The staff at The Smith Family Toowoomba Office are grateful for the support and the growth of the Toowoomba Community, and as a result of this growth are very excited to have a second Family Partnership Coordinator role in Toowoomba and look forward to working with the partner schools over the coming years to reach even more students in the area.
