Twin Waters VIEW Club
About
Twin Waters VIEW Club was formed in 2006. Each year we celebrate our birthday in November.
We are a dynamic club of 100 members who actively fundraise to support our 10 sponsored Learning for Life students who are currently enrolled in secondary school and at university. We are proud to also support hundreds of disadvantaged students each year by raising funds that are donated to The Smith Family educational program initiatives, and by providing hundreds of backpacks filled with stationery items for distribution to local families in need at Christmastime.
The Twin Waters VIEW Club are a fun group who enjoy delicious meals at our monthly luncheon meetings that are held at The Loose Goose Restaurant. At each meeting we have an interesting guest speaker and raise funds from raffle prizes and book and jam stalls. Our members are very welcoming and our club has been the platform in forming many long and lasting friendships. We strive to make everyone who attend our meetings leave feeling positive and happy.
When
- Meeting Day on 2nd Thursday each month
- 11 am for 11.30 am
Please contact: Doreen on 0415 695 921 or email twinwatersviewclub@gmail.com
We have a social outing each month with an annual agenda that includes a fashion parade, high tea with bring and buy trade tables, art, craft and hobby exhibition and morning teas or luncheons. We also have monthly friendship groups including a craft group that provide wonderful props to enhance our special themed luncheons.
Joining VIEW is not only a wonderful way to help children in need, it's also a great way to get involved in the community and have fun and make friendships, particularly if you are new to the Sunshine Coast.
We are passionate about the education and support of disadvantaged children as well as supporting members of our club.
Why don’t you come along and see what our VIEW Club is all about? We always look forward to welcoming new members.

Coronation Celebrations in May 2023
Hats, tiaras, crowns and royal masks were present at the May lunch meeting of the Twin Waters VIEW Club. Celebrating the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla, the Loose Goose was festooned with bunting and Union Jacks, with table settings of red, white, blue and purple flowers, topped with majestic crowns.
Members were resplendent in their garden party outfits and King Henry VIII even made an appearance – with Queen Anne Boleyn, who seemed rather detached from her former self.
Guest Speaker, Victoria Dawson, JP and Lay Magistrate, provided us with an excellent update on recent changes to the Advanced Health Directives and EPA laws, and members were treated to a sumptuous meal of roast lamb, followed by traditional bread and butter pudding. English fare at its finest!
Long live the King!
What We've Been Doing:
November 2022
Our Twin Waters VIEW Club ‘Flamingle and Be Flamazing’ 16th Birthday Party was held on Thursday 10th November
It has been said that a flock of flirting flamingos (that is aptly called a flamboyance) is pure, passionate, pink pandemonium- a frenetic flamingle, a discotheque of delirious dancing, flamboyant feathers and flamingo lingo’ …. this could have been describing us celebrating our TWVC 16th birthday party today.
Our design and decorating team once again transformed the Loose Goose veranda into a sea of pink and our 80 members and guests who embraced the flamingo theme and came dressed in a kaleidoscope of pink hues looked Flamazing. Jumbo flamingo floated on the tranquil lily pond, piñata flamingo got smashed by a powerful golfing swing, flamingo lights added to the atmosphere, flamingo cake topper stood proudly on Luana’s red velvet birthday cake … the atmosphere was truly ‘glamingo’.
We dined on two courses of deliciousness from the Loose Goose kitchen, Luana’s birthday cake and swayed and danced to the music from the dulcet sounds of Paul McKenna. What a day! Thanks to all who came to celebrate our club and all it stands for and thanks to the team who made it happen.

2022 October 27th: TWVC Arts Craft and Hobby Expo
Below: Karen
What can we say about our Arts Craft and Hobby Expo? It was absolutely FANTASTIC. It was such a delight to move around the room and enjoy the extraordinary work displayed at every table from 15 of our member exhibitors, to talk about their work, have an opportunity to watch a demonstration, or to purchase a unique and perfect piece to take home and treasure.
Our thanks go to our exhibitors for sharing ‘what you do outside of VIEW’ and for inspiring those considering a hobby of their own to ‘just do it and enjoy it’.

2022.07 Luncheon: Bastille Day
Our July luncheon meeting fell on Bastille Day, the French National Day, so of course we took the opportunity to celebrate with them. Our creative craft group once again worked their magic to take us on a journey to France turning the Loose Goose veranda into sea of blue, white and red. The theme continued as members arrived wearing striped shirts with berets and scarves, some dressed to impress and looked like models straight from the Vogue Magazine. Magnifique! We enjoyed a meal of coq au vin followed by Crème Caramel while listening to our guest speaker, Kathy, from ID Care and Identity Theft who was very informative. Even the raffle prizes were to theme with croissants and Monet mugs included. As we all said au revoir, we agreed that the meeting was tres bon, Oui Oui.
June 2022 Social
What a lovely high tea bring and buy social was had at our June social event
Happy people enjoying each other’s company over platters of deliciousness on beautifully decorated tables, hunting for a bargain or two or three from the trade table and coming home with gorgeous additions to their wardrobe all make for a very enjoyable morning.
Many thanks to Julie and Narelle who once again worked their magic in the kitchen, our set up team, and to all who came with contributions that made the day such a success.
17th June 2022: Meeting National President Margaret Woodhouse
Doreen, Janice, Helen and Karen attended the morning tea to meet our National President, Marg Woodhouse. What a fabulous person she is. We heard inspirational talks from Marg, Maryanne Mayer, the VIEW National Manager, and Margaret Elliott our past National Councillor, before they officially announced the appointment of Vonda Cannock as our QB01 Zone Councillor.
Vonda is one of our Twin Waters VIEW Club inaugural members and has been a valued committee member over the years working in several different positions. She is well known for her enthusiasm when organising groups to attend National Conventions and for her coordinating role for the 2019 National Convention when it was held at Twin Waters. Well done Vonda, you will do a great job spreading your love of all things VIEW and inspiring clubs in our zone.
June 2022 Luncheon
Our June luncheon meeting celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee was a right royal occasion. Jewel encrusted tiaras flashed and stylish and colourful hats adorned the regal room that was filled with English memorabilia and decorated in style by our talented craft group. What a great atmosphere it was.
May 2022 Social
Thirty members had a great time together while enjoying a delicious lunch at Spero’s Greek Restaurant at the Mooloolaba Wharf. After weeks of rain, blue sky and sunshine made the day even more enjoyable.
April 2022 Luncheon
Our Twin Waters VIEW Club luncheon meeting held in April set the festive tone and marked the start of the Easter weekend celebrations.
