Holfast Evening VIEW Club
About
Holdfast Evening VIEW Club celebrated its 10th Birthday in October 2018. We are a friendly Club of 50 members who meet monthly for dinner, with an interesting guest speaker.
We are immensely proud of the eight students we sponsor with The Smith Family’s Learning for Life program. They range from primary to university level. We have supported our tertiary student from her Primary School years through to this, her final year of nursing.
We hold monthly coffee mornings for members who can make it, and organise outings bimonthly.
During COVID 19 Lockdowns, we have remained active supporting our members through telephone trees and newsletters, and we have continued to donate generously to support our students. Some members have been creative making items to raise funds, and making reading mats and bags for the Learning for Life programs.
We always welcome visitors and new members, so please visit us, enjoy our company, and support the education of disadvantaged Australian students.

Successful Movie Afternoon in November 2020
Despite COVID 19 forcing the cancellation of our June Movie Afternoon, we were able to hold this in November, with restricted seating across two theatres for 128 guests. We enjoyed the new release Radioactive, and were delighted to raise over $2000 to help fund most of our students scholarships through to 2023. Our Program officers Margie and Athalie endured many anxious negotiations to achieve this.
Successful Movie Afternoon in 2019 June
Our 2019 major fundraiser at Mitcham Cinema was a huge success.
The movie Red Joan was enjoyed by all attending, and we raised over $4000 through ticket sales, a wine auction and trading tables.
Rosie assists at our trading tables. Chris and Athalie stocked our plant stall
Marg and Lorraine convened the wine and produce stalls.
