Meet Our 2023 Committee
L-R: President Jan, Vice President Wendy, Delegate Susan, Secretary Ellen, Treasurer Sandy
Our 2023 Committee was installed at the February AGM. Jan, Wendy and Susan have continued, and Ellen and Sandy have joined, both of whom come to us with solid skills and many years of experience as secretary and treasurer respectively. Welcome to you both.
Chasing A Passion
Susan Bower, our guest speaker for the April meeting, was a smash hit in more ways than one. She entertained and informed us with her life story as a nurse, progressing through to running a major hospital bed management, then leaving to find her true passion: story telling through TV series drama and TV movies.
Her credits include writing and producing such programs as Neighbours, McCleod's Daughters, Sea Patrol, All Saints (many stories based on her hospital life) and a Place to Call Home. One of her best name drops was Meryl, as in Meryl Streep, when Susan worked on Evil Angels with Lindy Chamberlain. What an inspiring woman.

April 2023
Members had a cracker of a meeting, rebooting trading tables as a result of a larger room. Items that remained were donated to opportunity and Salvo shops.
Many thanks to Lyn for running the table.
Easter Bonnets on Parade

Creating Connections
Margaret Edwards receives VIEW pen and certificate from club Program Officer Christine
In March 2022
Our March meeting speaker was Margaret Edwards representing the community organisation Casey Cardinia for Refugees.
In the spirit of creating connections and education of women, Margaret told us about the history and plight of refugees in Australia; from the Vietnam era to those who are still in detention today.
We discovered that some members were involved in similar efforts in other organisations. It was an enlightening session.

Embracing Equity in 2023
Three suffragettes greeted members of VA01 zone as they arrived for Heidelberg VIEW Club’s IWD celebration. Suzanne, Roz and Jenny proudly channelled the suffragettes of the past who fought for women’s right to vote. Members arrived wearing the colours of purple, teal and white; suffragist colours and also, fittingly, our VIEW colours. Like the suffragettes of old, VIEW women raise their voices for change for the common good.
