2023 May

Our meeting in May was our annual Box Auction, which is a major fundraiser for our students each year.  All our ladies bring along a boxed gift and then we all bid, sight unseen, for these.  The result was an awesome amount of $1717 raised to go into our coffers for maintenance of our eight students, whilst having fun!

2023 Upcoming Events

Our next meeting on the 5th June, has a very inspirational lady, who is an MS sufferer, as our guest speaker.  Very much looking forward to hearing her story.

Monday 3rd July, has our guest speaker, Janet Moran, talking about RDA Carriage Driving.  Apparently, this is an organisation that enables wheelchair bound or otherwise disabled people, to experience horse riding.  Sounds like another very interesting session.

Finally, on Monday, 7th August, Chris Symonds will be taking to us about The Funky Farm.  This is a specialty facility, where special needs adults and children can enjoy and interact with all sorts of Australian wildlife animals.

Please feel free to come to any of our meetings at The Berwick Springs Hotel, starting at 11.15 am in the function room near the children’s playroom. Simply notify Shirley, whose contact details are above, that you will be attending.  Cost on the day is $20, which covers your lunch, a drink of choice and a donation to our fund for our students.’

A New Year Begins

January 2023

Another year has begun.  Hopefully everyone had a safe and happy Christmas and New Year.  Our move to our new Venue, The Berwick Springs Hotel, has proved to be a very successful one, with a number of new ladies attending and expressing their interest in joining our group.

Our club enjoyed their annual Chicken and Champagne lunch at the Affinity Clubrooms in Berwick.  An excellent roll-up of thirty-six members enjoyed Chicken and Champagne as well as a very tasty range of salads and sweets, prepared and donated by the committee.  All proceeds were for our Learning for Life students, and was an excellent way to start the year.

Our first official meeting will be our AGM on the 6th February at the Berwick Springs Hotel.  This will be at our normal time, which is 11am arrival for an 11.30 start, followed by lunch.  All the committee positions have been allocated, so come and meet your new committee.

We look forward to seeing everyone on the 6th February.  If you are a newby and interested in giving our group a try, please let Shirley know of your interest, to allow for seating to be organised.  Here’s to a happy and successful 2023.

Venue Update

Well, it has taken a while but we have finally got a new permanent venue for our monthly meetings.  Our new venue will be The Berwick Springs Hotel.  They have a lovely big room which we are able to use, and which can be closed off from the rest of the Bistro area.  This is very timely, as our next meeting is our Birthday meeting, and our guest speaker will be giving us pointers on floristry.

We had a very successful TS Fashion Parade day last week, which we all enjoyed, with a few of our intrepid ladies becoming models on the day.  All those who attended, were lucky enough to receive a ‘Goodies’ bag, which amongst other things contained a 30% off Voucher.  Lunch and Champagne were supplied.  This has proved to be a good money raiser for our students, whilst having a lot of fun!

We are always looking to welcome new members and particularly would encourage younger women, who are interested in joining to come to a couple of our meetings and give us a try😃

Arrival is still approx. 11.00 am for an 11.30 am start.  This allows time for lunch orders to be taken etc.’
