Wonderful Guest Speaker Lex De Man
Wonderful Guest Speaker Lex De Man
Guest Speaker Lex De Man spoke about Anne-Hamilton Byrne - Cult Leader of The Family.
Anne-Hamilton Byrne was the evil leader of The Family, an apocalyptic cult with about 500 followers and more than 28 children. Some were the children of cult members, others were newborns that came from unwed mothers tricked into thinking their babies were going to good homes, a few were out and out stolen.
Not a sound was heard from the Members as they sat listening to the most wonderful guest speaker who dedicated years of his life to bring this evil woman to justice.

Vicki Key, a retired Police Officer was a very inspirational speaker. Members could not believe the talents, energy and commitment that Vicki has to life!
Vicki spent the majority of her career investigating sexual assault against children and adults and physical assault against children. She retired in 2010 and in 2012 Vicki founded the Retired Police Peer Support Office Program which assists retired uniformed members who may be experiencing difficulties with their mental health.
Vicki was honoured and proud to receive The Order of Australia Medal for her dedication in the police force and her work in supporting retired police officers. A huge honour and very much deserved.

July 2023 with Vicki
July 2023 with Vicki
Vicki stated that to understand the minds of women in the Middle East, it is necessary to understand Islam, and she quoted a number of verses from the Koran which describe the superiority of men over women. She gave four reasons why these women have difficulty in leaving Islam:
1) Since birth women are not encouraged to discuss religion, just to obey.
2) Many countries punish anyone leaving Islam with the death penalty: in others it is seen as bringing dishonour on the family, and honour killings often ensue.
3) Women are brought up to believe in a God and an afterlife, and that submission is required for this.
4) Men can readily divorce a wife, and the woman then loses her children and has to return to her parents in disgrace.
Vicki was a great speaker and was very happy to answer any questions Members asked.
