Meet Our 2024 Committee
Our Club has relocated to the Lower Plenty Hotel and members enjoyed the easy parking, the gumtree vista that could be seen from the new meeting room and the tasty meal.
We were privileged to welcome new VA01 ZC Carolyn to the meeting. Carolyn presided over the AGM, swore in the new committee and shared updates on the progress of VIEW and TSF.

April 2024
We are a vibrant club with an active committee, increasing membership and enthusiastic members. Members welcomed three visitors in April and enjoyed our meeting and speakers from the North-East Link, who answered the many questions Members had about this massive local construction.
Pictured is Joan receiving a thankyou orchid for her many years of service as the Member and Meal Organiser and also for numerous other tasks that she undertook over those years.

Next month’s meeting is our Mother’s Day celebration. All attendees are welcome to bring a daughter, sister or friend and to dress in pink and white colours.

Seventy-three ladies attended, including National President Marg Woodhouse, our new zone counsellor for 2024, Carolyn and representatives from Banyule, Plenty Valley, Doncaster and Castlemaine.
Marg spoke about the new digital learning programme. The aim is for every sponsored child to have access to a computer and have assistance in using it.
After the formalities the fun really began with musician Chuck getting members up dancing. It was a birthday to remember.

Spring into September 2023
Spring into September 2023
The room was filled with pink blossoms to herald the arrival of spring, and yet another enjoyable gathering was held at Heidelberg VIEW. Once again Members donated generously to the Prep Packs and library bag drive. It’s yet another way Members of VIEW contribute to the needs of students.
The speaker was the very interesting Louis Roller who spoke on the effects of music on health and mood.
Photo shows President Elizabeth and Secretery Jenny displaying some of the beautifully made and colourful bags.

Politicians Prostitutes and Poverty in August 2023
Members greatly enjoyed the speaker this month. Jill Hauser spoke on Politicians, Prostitutes and Poverty We learnt about the challenges, vices and architecture of post gold-rush Melbourne, specifically the area of Lonsdale St. Our speakers are certainly varied and interesting, and promote the ‘education’ aspect of our VIEW name. There is always something new to learn, discuss and research!
A promotional stall was held at the Warringal Shopping Centre. Many fruitful discussions were held with members of the public about The Smith Family and the role View Clubs have in supporting TSF projects and Learning for Life students.
Christmas in July 2023
Christmas in July 2023
The theme for this month was Christmas in July. It’s hard to think of the actual Christmas being only five and a half months away!
In lieu of a Kris Kringle, Members donated to TSF Christmas fund. A delicious lunch was enjoyed, together with the sound of popping of bonbons. Members voted on the current resolutions, using their voice to influence for positive change.
The speaker, Marina, showcased her array of glass jewellery and platters and spoke about the process of creating the items. Quite a few members went home with something beautiful.
