Mornington VIEW Club

About

Mornington VIEW Club was formed in 1994.

Currently our Club sponsors seven Smith Family Learning For Life student and actively raises funds for donations to The Smith Family programs.

We are a very friendly and most welcoming group who enjoy meeting monthly in the very pleasant surroundings of the Mornington Golf Club. We have a strong and rapidly increasing membership.

Our social activities include regular guest speakers, coffee mornings and a variety of outings that are both interesting and entertaining. Our members actively support fundraising endeavours to promote the work of The Smith Family. We currently sponsor seven Learning for Life students and contribute to both the Winter Appeal and Toy and Book Appeal with money raised.

We are always open to new members, so please get in touch today.

2021 January Update

Due to the Covid-19 virus, we were unable to meet after February 2020,  so had to cancel all speakers and activities for the remainder of the year.   We kept in touch and connected with all our members by keeping them busy with various games and competitions.  Members are now thrilled to be able to hold monthly luncheons, invite speakers, and again participate in the many planned activities.

We have reintroduced our Book Club, and will be starting a new walking group.  The regular coffee mornings will continue and various other activities like a picnic at McClelland Gallery Sculpture Gardens and a visit to Mornington Rose Garden for High Tea.

New members are always welcome to join our friendly club and enjoy all we have to offer, as well as contributing to supporting our seven Smith Family Learning for Life Students.

2020 June Update

As we are unable to meet during these unusual times, the committee contacts all our members as a way of keeping in touch.

Our members still receive their monthly newsletter which includes various activities and competitions, such as:

  • Pick which Baby photo belongs to which Committee member;
  • Guess the number of Beads in the bottle;
  • Scrambled Names; and
  • A Colouring competition.

As well as others.  We are currently taking part in a Football Tipping Competition which has become quite a talking point.

25th Birthday Celebrations

Mornington VIEW Club celebrated their 25th birthday at Mornington Golf Club on 28th June 2019 with a theme of silver and hot pink.  We were joined by members of VIEW Executive, Past Presidents and members of other VIEW clubs in our zone.   Our special guest was Mandy Van Zenen who entertained us with a delightful selection of songs, old and new.

Members of our birthday committee did a wonderful job decorating the tables and also made special gifts for all who attended to celebrate our birthday.   We were also well supported by local businesses who donated raffle prizes for the occasion.

It was an excellent day and was enjoyed by all.   We are a very active and friendly club and new members are always welcome.
