Mulgrave VIEW Club was formed in 1995.
We currently sponsor six Smith Family Learning For Life students and are involved in fundraising activities for The Smith Family programs.
We are always looking for new members who want to enjoy making new friends in pleasant surroundings while contributing to a worthy cause.
- Meeting Day on 2nd Monday each month
- Held at the Mulgrave Country Club
Cnr Jells and Wellington Roads

Once again we had a wonderful turnout for the March Meeting. Everyone seems so happy to renew their friendships with other members! If the noise level is anything to go by, it was a huge success!
We were entertained by Yvonne, The Gadget Lady, and all her wares.
Next month we are celebrating not only our 26th birthday, but our 25th as well, which was cancelled last year. Our friend, jeweller Adrian Dickens returns and this year tells us about the jewellery belonging to “The Three Queens”. We are looking forward to this talk with much anticipation!
Pictured with Yvonne are some committee members sampling the goodies.
VIEW is Back in 2021
Well, at last, finally we were able to have a meeting, the first in eleven months!!! There was a good turn-out, and it was wonderful to catch up with so many of our members.
Although masks were mandatory, we were able to remove them to eat! It was like a Masked Ball, where everybody removed them at midnight! There were some surprises, with a number of different hair colours and styles!
We consumed a great meal, while enjoying the complete refit of our meeting room at the Mulgrave Country Club.
The AGM was short, as all current members of the committee agreed to stand for another year, and there were no volunteers from the floor.
All in all it was wonderful to finally meet up with our club members, and I sincerely hope that we are able to continue into the future, with no more lock-downs. See you in March!
For our March meeting we had the privilege of listening to Maria Matser, a former lift operator at Myer Melbourne, the flagship of the chain. She told us of the good, bad, and ugly patrons who frequented this store, and the demands they made upon the staff. Times certainly were different then.

2020 April to July
June has come and gone, and still no sign of our club meetings resuming. Sadly here in Victoria I think it will be quite some time before we can once again meet face to face. However, this does not mean we have not been in contact with our members. Thanks to our very busy committee we have been able to keep in touch with all our members every month either by phone or email and will do so until once again we are allowed to congregate at Mulgrave Country Club. At that time I am sure there will be many interesting tales to tell of how our members coped with the isolation of the past four months.
Welcome 2020 Committee
Our February meeting was our AGM and we were fortunate to have our new zone councillor, Hazel Austin chair the meeting. Our president Lynn was re-elected, and gave a report on the past year. I was surprised to hear how busy our club had been. There are great plans being made for this year and I am sure we will be just as active. There is a great line-up of guest speakers, and we welcome any women who would like to come along as visitors to see if View Clubs are for them.
We were also informed that we now sponsor 7 children in the Smith Family’s Learning For Life Program.
The year ended with much laughter and fun at our annual Christmas lunch.
Plans are well under way for a wonderful 2020 with many good speakers and events. We look forward to welcoming new members so please contact us if you are interested.
This month was our Make and Bake Sale, and the photo shows what was left ½ hour before start of meeting!
A big thanks to those members who baked, and bought. As we are in the process of obtaining another student, all money raised is very welcome.
This month our speaker was John Gardner, “The Dunny Man”! He entertained us with hilarious stories of the time when he actually was a dunny man!
It is also the month when Pearl, a former member of our club celebrates her 105 birthday! Until a couple of years ago, Pearl attended all our meetings and was a valued member of Mulgrave VIEW.
In August our club had its annual road trip north to the Murray. All who went had an enjoyable time, and have requested another trip next year!
Our speaker this month was from “Backpacks 4 Vic Kids”. We were informed of all the work they do to assist children in emergency care by supplying them with all the essentials they will require in the immediate future. Children are often displaced with only the clothes on their backs. This is truly a worthwhile charity with no government assistance.
Late in July 11 members attended a morning coffee at Parliament House, which was really a brunch, with a wonderful selection of food.
Our August meeting again saw Heather Burge return to finally get us to Paris by bicycle from Beijing! What a wonderful trip we have had with Heather over the past two years!

It has been a busy month for Mulgrave Day View Club. We had a movie and lunch in June, followed by the Gala, which was attended by seven members. For our July meeting, we were entertained by Vivian Gallagher, from Accessorise U, who demonstrated the latest in handbags, scarfs, jewellery, and wraps.
Recent gala - L-R Annette, National Vice-President, Learning-for-life student, Fitina, Mulgrave Day View Club Delegate, Shirley, and Smith Family Co-ordinator Kelly.
This month we were privileged to have as speaker, Cherie Shaw from Ronald McDonald House, Victoria. She informed us about the work they do, including the housing they provide for parents and families of children attending the various hospitals in and around Melbourne.
Once again we were privileged to have Adrian Dickens entertain us, this time with a talk and video of “Elizabeth Taylor, her Love Affair with Jewellery”.
Adrian’s research and knowledge is amazing, and he explained the history, cut and quality of her fabulous collection. This was a wonderful presentation and enjoyed by all.

Our speaker this month was Brian Williams, from Victoria Consumer Affairs. He gave a most interesting talk on Scams, and how to avoid them. He also enlightened us to the harm they do in the community, and the millions of dollars that are lost to big crime syndicates every year.

To help celebrate our 24th birthday this month, we were joined by VIEW Club Executives Annette Schlafrig, Lyn Peters and Sandi Muntisov. Many members went home with arms full of the numerous raffle prizes!
Next month we will be joined by a speaker from Ronald McDonald House.
February is AGM month, and after the new Committee was sworn in, we had a short talk from Lyn Peters to bring us up-to-date with The Smith Family.
Next month, March, our speaker is Brian Williams from the Victoria Justice Department to talk about scams.
This month we had our usual "casual" lunch, held this time at the Dandenong club. We had 42 women turn up which was a wonderful number on such a hot day.
2018 finished the year with a sausage sizzle at Bunnings, followed by a Christmas lunch at the Waverley RSL. This has been a very successful year for our club.
