Getting to know our members.
Thirty one members (seven apologies) and five guests attended the November Luncheon Meeting at Club Gloucester on Tuesday 16th.
The usual business was attended to and Welfare Officer Elaine gave updates on three members who are at various stages of recovery from operations as well as ex-Delegate Sue’s progress in trying to settle in Queensland. (She has been marooned on the NSW side of the border since August!)
November birthdays were celebrated and raffles drawn. The Lucky Door prize is usually awarded to the member with a red dot underneath their placemat but, for the first time, it wasn’t claimed as that seat was vacant! Quick thinking solved the dilemma – each placemat is numbered, a number was chosen at random and the lucky winner was Robyn, one of the guests.
Grace was said, followed by a delicious lunch after which the second instalment of our “Getting to Know Our Members” segment with Ann Cullun and Betty Freeman regaling us with different aspects of their life stories – very interesting.
Our last meeting of the year will be the Christmas Luncheon Meeting on 21st December and our members take this opportunity to wish VIEW Club members everywhere a very happy Christmas and a healthy and happy 2022.
Twenty nine members and four guests attended the Luncheon Meeting on Tuesday 19th October and were welcomed by Chris, Pat R and Pat G as they signed in and had COVID vaccination records checked.
Along with Guest Speaker Wendy Buswell who kept everyone entertained with her Drama stories, they all enjoyed a delicious meal at tables set up by Club Gloucester and decorated by Rae.
Birthdays were celebrated, raffles won, the Trading Table did a brisk business (thank you to the members who contributed tempting cooking and healthy plants/produce) and the monthly Newsletter was distributed by editor Pat R.
President Vivien reminded all the election for the 2022 Committee is fast approaching. All positions will be declared vacant and nomination forms can be obtained from Secretary Judy.
The next Luncheon Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 16th November, Club Gloucester, 11:00am for 11:

2021 June Celebrations
Seventeen Gloucester VIEW Club members travelled to Taree on 22nd June to join with Taree VIEW Club to celebrate its 54th birthday.
The theme was black & white; the Trading Table was loaded with goodies; the raffles, guessing competition and 100 Club were very well supported and the lucky winners went home with an array of prizes.
The food was delicious and the cuppa on arrival accompanied by scones, jam and cream was most welcome.
It was another day of friendship with members enjoying a social occasion while raising funds for Learning for Life students. Congratulations Taree View
On Tuesday 18th May members celebrated our Club’s 32nd birthday with approximately 60 members and guests in attendance.
President Vivien welcomed everyone and thanked members Rae for the wonderful table decorations and Pat for her production of our monthly newsletter. Vivien also welcomed new member Shawn, and presented her with her badge.
Guest speaker Rotary Youth Exhange student Rico Fitzgerald kept us entertained and informed about her year in Slovenia.
A very enjoyable day of fellowship and fun.
A very interesting and enjoyable day at our April meeting ably chaired once again by President Vivien.
The welcoming committee of Treasurer Pat G, Assistant Treasurer Chris, and Nathalie made sure we all signed in and paid up!!
As usual the tables were beautifully decorated by Rae with an ANZAC Day theme while every member received a copy of the monthly newsletter in which editor Pat R had also acknowledged the 25th April.
Judy led the members in the National Anthem while Rae led the Pledge.
Secretary Judy, Treasurer Pat G, Delegate Sue, and Welfare Officer Elaine, presented the previous minutes, correspondence and reports before President Vivien “pinned” 3 new members.
Birthdays, anniversaries and other important milestones were celebrated,
Nathalie said Grace, and after another delicious lunch provided by Kieran and crew, guest speaker solicitor Ray Martin ensured we understood the legalities around wills and related matters. Pat R presented Ray with a thank you gift.
