About
Murwillumbah Day VIEW Club was formed in 1967.
Currently, the Club sponsors seven Smith Family Learning for Life students and is actively involved in fundraising activities to raise donations for The Smith Family programs.
We are always open to new members, so please get in touch today and come and see what it's all about.

Patricia conducted her first AGM as Zone Councillor.

In July, two committee members received their badges from President Shirley, being Annette, Publicity Officer, and Sandi, Assistant Treasurer. Welcome to the Committee ladies.
Our guest speakers, Tim Mason and Linda Brandon spoke and showed us a visual presentation about the new Tweed Valley Hospital and the transition from Tweed Hospital.
Our other good news is that the Club Members voted to support an 8th student.

President Shirley presented our nonagenarians with a posy of flowers each. The ninety year olds are Isabel, Pam, Mary, Margaret and Betty.

In our May meeting, we had a special raffle of a quilt donated by Maureen, and won by Betty, who had lost a lot in the floods last year.
Members paid tribute to their mothers by bringing along something that was owned by our mother. Bernice brought her mother.

Our guest speaker, Valerie Skinner, was the intrepid 85 year old Mountaineer who has not finished climbing. She has scaled Mount Blanc a number of times as well as mountains in another seven countries.
The photographs of Valerie on top of ridges and mountains was breathtaking. No one was tempted to join her in her passion.

Thirty nine Members and friends enjoyed a trip to Canungra with a visit to the Aquis Horse Stud followed by lunch at Canungra Hotel.

Ellie Wilkie was our very humorous guest speaker at the March meeting. She showed some of her artwork and the short humorous poems that she wrote to accompany them. Our Easter Raffle was very popular with lots of prizes and our good news is that we have been so financially successful, that we now have seven Learning for Life students.
The major prize was won by Bernice, is holidaying overseas.

Nine Members from our Club attended International Women’s Day at South Tweed Sports Club.
The speakers were inspiring on the topic of Embrace Equity. The speakers were Valerie Skinner, who started climbing mountains at the age of 55, Keri Agar, the founder of Cabarita Distillery, Stacie Fogarty, a proud Mununjali woman. Also speaking were Jasmin Dorrington and Hannah from the Smith Family.

The guest speaker was Nic Irby, who spoke on the 51 years of the Tamworth Country Music Festival. His audio visual presentation was of a high standard and very informative and entertaining.
