“Dickens of a Christmas”
Narrabri VIEW club celebrated a “Dickens of a Christmas” at their 2017 July meeting.
Members were dressed in long skirts, shawls and mob caps and bonnets in the spirit of the day.
Tables were decorated with greenery appropriate to the custom in Dickens’ time and there were carol-singing mice knitted by a member grouped on the stage to add atmosphere to the festivities amongst small Christmas trees. Lots of other Dickens memorabilia was scattered throughout the meeting room as well as copies of many of his stories.
Members were also entertained by a line-dancing group in appropriate festive style before all sitting down to a delicious lunch.

Miniature Christmas
Narrabri VIEW Club celebrated a Miniature Christmas at their last meeting of the year.
There were many interesting decorations scattered through the meeting room.
Club President Elizabeth Spicer creates all sorts of interesting characters throughout the year and this time she featured knitted mice. There were choirs of mice, mice decorating trees, mice partying and mice couples at the end of each table. Along with the mice there were partying penguins looking as though they were seriously enjoying themselves.
There was a good crowd of members there also enjoying the company of others. The club resumes in February next year.
