Getting Creative
2022 April
Our Easter themed April Luncheon meeting brought together a roomful of colourful outfits with some very creative Easter bonnets. You can see the variations in the photo of the ladies lined up for the parade.
Best bonnet went to Gwyneth (featured at the centre). Second prize to Katherine for her Peter Rabbit pink top hat. Wonderful effort from all the ladies All the creations deserve a mention.
Seafood Cruise in March 2022
Members and their guests enjoyed a glorious day out on the water with Sea World Cruises; so fortunate with the weather. On the Boat Cruise we were well looked after by Skipper Michael and his wonderful crew June, Zoe, Lahsha and Craig. The seafood spread was excellent which matched the service.
Getting to Know Members
Learning about Hearing Loss
As part of our program this year we have decided to introduce a getting to know you interview activity, where we invite members to tell us a bit about themselves in order to get a snapshot of their life story.
A set of pre-set questions is given to each person to make the process easier for the interviewee. This month the interviewees pictured were Christine, Ilma, Val and Katherine.
We were regaled with facts, anecdotes and humour, and hope to continue with this activity in months to come.
In addition Val introduced our delightful Guest Speaker Dr Andrew Campbell, who spoke to us on the benefits of correcting hearing loss early. He advocates that Loss of Hearing can Rob the Mind. That was certainly food for thought.
Helping Others
Trolley after trolley were loaded for delivery to the Flood Relief centre. Two large trucks carrying approximately 2,000 grocery, food, care packages every day were delivered to numerous evacuation and Community support centres.
Our Club is very proud to have been part of that effort.
2022 March
Shown in this photo is but a fraction of the enormous result in our efforts to support the community of Lismore during this months disastrous floods.
At the instigation of our Club Secretary Annette and President Lyn the response was overwhelming from our members. The truckloads were delivered by Annette and her husband Ivan as well Lyn and her husband Gary to a charity called Love this City. Lyn said, they were extremely well organized and most grateful for our donations.
2022 February
Our club opened the new year with an interesting theme.
As Australia Day had already passed it was decided we should still have an opportunity to celebrate our culture as well as other cultures and people that we welcome officially on Australia Day. Hence the variation of colours and costumes in this edition of our website.
2021 Christmas
Closing 2021 with the memory of a mammoth task undertaken by members of Zone01 of Christmas Gift Wrapping, as a community event.
An event which helps to top up the coffers from the generous donations of the shoppers who entrusted their precious parcels for us to wrap.
A huge thank-you to those ladies who volunteered their precious time despite their own busy schedules.

Christmas Celebrations
2021 December
Another extraordinary year comes to an end. Happily we have proven that even COVID-19 can't dampen our determination to achieve our goals in raising the much needed funds to support our Learning for Life students.
President Lyn gave thanks to Committee and Members for their hard work, enthusiasm and support. Secret Santa parcels of all shapes and sizes got the room buzzing with excitement. And of course Sue M provided more comic relief, leaving us in good humour at end of the day.
We close this year by wishing everyone never-ending happiness and good health this Christmas and New Year.
Entertainment, Prizes, and More
2021 December
A lovely evening was enjoyed by all who attended the Runaway Bay Christmas dinner with partners, family and friends. We were entertained by the amazing young soloist Jack Watson whose repertoire spans Motown to classical music.
Leigh (daughter of Narelle Millikin, one of our longest serving members) was thrilled to win the enormous hamper on the night. And as a special opportunity for the club a golfing package was auctioned and won by guest Les Sutton, and presented by President Lyn. Included in the golfing package (that was auctioned) was a signed Greg Norman polo shirt.
Notable among the participants are two fun loving "Nonagenarians" with extraordinary energy and style, seated with Peggy Scanlon and Val Waters who are standing.

2021 May Birthday
Perhaps the most important event of our VIEW club every year is the birthday celebration. This year marked 28 years for Runaway Bay VIEW.
To help us celebrate we are joined by two of the longest standing members in our club Narelle Milliken and Roslyn Hall. Both ladies regaled us with their experiences through their years with VIEW.
