Gawler VIEW Club

About

The Gawler VIEW Club was inaugurated in 2003. Our Club makes regular donations to The Smith Family, and sponsors thirteen (13) Learning for Life students. Through The Smith Family our Club also provides funding to a local school for their Let's Read, Learning Clubs, and Breakfast Club programs, as well as reading mats, library bags, and stationery supplies. Each year we support The Smith Family's Toy and Book Appeal. Our Members mentor at local schools with children who have learning difficulties; and we also volunteer in the local community, as well as at The Smith Family offices.

The Gawler VIEW Club, together with other VIEW Clubs in our Zone, host an annual International Women's Day (IWD) luncheon. Our Club is also represented on the Gawler IWD Breakfast Committee.

Gawler VIEW Club Members come from not only the Gawler area but as far away as Kensington, Modbury, and Elizabeth in the south, and many Barossa Valley towns in the north. We are a vibrant group of women who are welcome to participate in as much or as little fund raising activities as they choose. The main emphasis is on fun and friendship where we enjoy a wide range of social functions throughout the year as we support The Smith Family student programs.

Our monthly meetings usually include interesting guest speakers to share their insights on a variety of topics, and lunch.

Club News

2022 Upcoming Events

Our annual Christmas in July lunch to be held on Monday 11^th July – venue to be advised. Always lots of fun when our Members, family and friends get into the festive spirit! Our Winter raffle will also be drawn at this event.

We are looking forward to celebrating our 19th Birthday on Monday 22nd August 2022, at our new venue, the Kingsford Hotel, 32 Murray Street, Gawler SA 5118. There will be a very interesting and exciting guest speaker that will complement this year’s theme of Gawler women’s history. As usual there will be lots of excellent raffle prizes and some amazing(!) lucky dips.

We are hoping that the Gawler Rotary Village Fair will resume this November, it’s always a highlight on the local community calendar. Our Club has a huge trading table where we raise funds for our 13 students’ sponsorships and also promote VIEW and the work of The Smith Family.

We are planning on having a ‘High Tea’ to celebrate The Smith Family’s 100^th Birthday, venue and date to be confirmed.

Our Club’s Christmas lunch will be held on Monday 12^th December 2022, venue and date to be confirmed. Our Christmas raffle will be drawn at this event.

Plus many other socials throughout the year where we enjoy each others’ company.
