Southern Vales VIEW Club
About
The Southern Vales VIEW Club was formed on 9th June 2006. Our members have great fun socialising whilst committed to providing educational opportunities for disadvantaged children in the southern region by sponsoring four Learning For Life students from Reception to Year 12, through community fund raising, including Bunnings BBQs, raffles, and special events.
We hold monthly lunch meetings, with interesting guest speakers. Members enjoy regular outings to places of interest, visiting other VIEW Clubs in the South, the annual Gala Day and International Women’s Day, also monthly coffee mornings, Mahjong and a Book Club.

Family Fun Day
A joint venture by The Lions Club of McLaren Districts, Southern Vales VIEW and Onkaparinga VIEW to raise funds for disadvantaged students through The Smith Family Learning for Life programs.
How it came about:
Back in March we were approached by representatives of The Lions Club, in regard to finding a use for the Bowling Green at McLaren Flat which had been standing idle since The Onkaparinga Council had closed the facility. They were keen to involve the local communities and invited us to join them in a Family Fun Day where funds raised would go to The Smith Family. We jumped at the opportunity and our sister Club, Onkaparinga VIEW, came on board to support us.
The organisations pooled ideas and resources and The Family Fun Day became a reality. A major raffle was held with Bunnings and Officeworks amongst the sponsors. There was be a Craft Marquee with quality hand crafted products for sale, and fun activities for the children.
Also in attendance, was The Smith Family's General Manager, SA and NT, Graham Jaeschke, together with our VIEW SA01 Zone Councillor, Pauline Glover and SA02 Joan Coleman.
We spread the word widely and the McLaren Flat and McLaren Vale communities got behind this project to support our worthy cause.
2021 August
Members enjoyed a Chocolate and Wine pairing afternoon at Hastwell and Lightfoot Winery. This is a small winery in McLaren Flat.
We had tastings of wine, then we had to place different flavours of chocolate in our mouth's, and then compare the different tastes. Not many of our members could taste the difference but we still had a fun time.
Twelve ladies attended this outing and it was worth noticing a few extra bottles were purchased for later tastings!!
2021 Begins
Southern Vales VIEW are up and running for 2021.
We have very interesting Guest Speakers booked for the year and exciting outings planned. We sponsor four students.
Our aim this year is to increase our membership of 28 by encouraging members to bring along a friend. New flyers for distribution have been designed.
