Venue Update

Time to give an update on our progress with regard to an ongoing venue for our monthly meetings.  We have a local venue that we are waiting confirmation or otherwise from, in relation to a permanent meeting spot.  In the meantime, for the months of March, April and May, we are meeting in a large private Marquee, which has full heating and cooling, at the Cardinia Park Hotel, 200 Beaconsfield-Emerald Road, Beaconsfield.

Our next meeting on the 4th April, will be our Box Auction, when all our ladies purchase something to the value of $15-$20, box it up in an attractive box, and bring it along to our meeting.  These boxes are then auctioned off to the highest bidder on the day, and is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year for our Learning for Life students.  Spirited bidding makes for a lot of fun!

All newcomers are welcome to come and experience our group, with a view to hopefully becoming a fully fledged member.  This means you can attend our monthly luncheon meetings, and listen to our interesting and informative guest speakers, whilst enjoying the companionship of many likeminded ladies.

Arrival at approx 11.00 for an 11.30 start is preferable.

2022 A New Beginning

The New Year is here, and after a couple of very difficult years for our group, hopefully things will turn around this year.  We are starting with our traditional Chicken and Champagne Luncheon, which is one of our main fundraisers for our learning for life students.

This will be held on Monday, the 17th January at 11.30am at the usual venue, The Affinity Clubrooms.  It is important that numbers are clear, so please let our President or Secretary know, if you have indicated you will be attending, but are NO LONGER able to; as this will affect the catering for the event.

It will be a COVID-19 safe event, double vaccination essential, and a COVID Marshall will be present.  Food will also be served in a COVID safe manner.

We will be outdoors on the verandah, due to new per square meter requirements, so dress accordingly depending on the weather.  There will be tables and chairs available.

Unfortunately, as a result of last year’s lockdown, our normal venue for our monthly meetings has closed.  The committee are currently researching new venues for the year ahead, and all members will be advised as soon as this is achieved.

Our AGM luncheon meeting, which is due on Monday the 7th February, will also be held at The Affinity Clubrooms.  The same conditions will apply, as for our Chicken and Champagne function.  Start time for this is 11.30am arrival for a midday start.  Here again, if you are not planning on attending, please let either our President or Secretary know as soon as possible.

Please check our website and Facebook page for contact details.

As soon as the details of our new venue becomes available, I will update our page with the details.  We are always looking for new members to boost our ranks.  If you are interested in joining our happy band once a month for a luncheon and guest speaker, and thereby contributing to the eight Learning for Life students that we are currently sponsoring, please contact our Secretary on the number provided. Here’s to a happy and healthy New Year to all our members, old and new.’

VIEW is back in 2021

Berwick Springs View Club is very excited to announce that our monthly meetings have finally been able to recommence!

We are still at the same venue set out above, being the Cranbourne RSL Club.  All the other details remain the same and apart from signing into the RSL on arrival to cover the Covid requirements, not much had changed, which is great.  Anyone interested in coming needs to email to let us know, because we do have to advise numbers to the RSL.

We are all keeping our fingers crossed that the status quo remains 😀. Visitors are very welcome.

2020 January

Our club commenced the New Year with our annual Chicken and Champagne luncheon in the 20th January.  Our ladies enjoyed a lovely relaxed luncheon provided by the committee including chicken, salads and sweets, as well as champagne😃

If you are interested in joining our happy band for our first meeting, please email Carol on the email above.  We always welcome new members.  Our guest speaker for our first meeting will be Lyn Geer from The Smith Family.  A great chance for new members to learn something about our organisation.’

2020 January

Our club, Berwick Springs VIEW Club, has also been advised, that due to renovations at the Cranbourne RSL where we have our monthly luncheon meetings, our next meeting on the 3rd February, which will also be our AGM, Will now be held at The Affinity Residents Centre, 5 Meridian Circuit, Berwick.  Start time is 11.30 am and lunch will be provided by the committee for the normal monthly luncheon cost of $20.

Sweet 16th Birthday Celebrations

Our meeting on the 7th October saw us celebrating our 16th birthday.  Our overall theme was floral and James Wall from Flower World gave us a really entertaining and at times quite funny talk on his time in the nursery business, as well as giving away a few ‘spot prizes’ of plants. We were also told that surprisingly enough, the super food of the vegetable world is Watercress!  Big surprise to us all.

Each month sees us entertained by very interesting speakers whilst we enjoy a lovely lunch.  If you would like to come and experience our meetings, please email Carol on berwicksprings.viewclub@gmail.com.  You are welcome to attend as a visitor for 3 meetings, before deciding on membership or not.

Our ladies are a friendly bunch and welcome new faces.
