About
Box Hill/Mitcham VIEW Club was formed in 1983.
Currently the Club sponsors nine Smith Family Learning For Life students, and is actively involved in fund raising activities to raise donations for The Smith Family programs.
We have about 35 members from Box Hill, Blackburn, Mitcham, Vermont and nearby suburbs.
We meet at Bucatini's Restaurant, at 454 Whitehorse Road, Mitcham once a month where we enjoy lunch and listen to guest speakers addressing us on many different subjects. See the entry below to find out how we are spending our time this year as we celebrate our 40th year.
On the 2nd Monday we usually meet for an informal morning tea in one of the cafés in the eastern suburbs.
There is always plenty of chatter as we catch up with each other. Our group is very friendly and certainly enjoys the fun and friendship that comes with belonging to VIEW.

2023 New Year, New Program
Our Club has started the year off in great style. We celebrated our 40th birthday at the March meeting. Members had fun with a games day, including a Member timeline, some quizzes, pass the parcel and, of course, birthday cake.
At the April meeting, on the 24th the speaker will be Wendy Brown, talking about Family History Connections, exploring your family tree.
The annual Make, Bake and Grow auction will be held in September to take advantage of the growing season. There is always a wealth of produce and tasty goodies at this event with plenty to take home goods to enjoy

Embracing Equity in 2023
Three suffragettes greeted members of VA01 zone as they arrived for Heidelberg VIEW Club’s IWD celebration. Suzanne, Roz and Jenny proudly channelled the suffragettes of the past who fought for women’s right to vote. Members arrived wearing the colours of purple, teal and white; suffragist colours and also, fittingly, our VIEW colours. Like the suffragettes of old, VIEW women raise their voices for change for the common good.
