2022 Ringwood VIEW Club Committee
Keep up to date with what is happening around the clubs.
2022 June and July
During June and July our members enjoyed a lunch outing and a morning tea outing at different restaurants, as well as our usual monthly meetings at Club Ringwood.
We were also kept well-informed by a couple of very interesting guest speakers - John from Alowyn Gardens and Ravij from Consumer Affairs, Victoria, who spoke to us about scams. It's sad that this is necessary, but avoiding scams is an essential life-skill these days, and Ravij is an engaging and informative speaker.
2022 May Spectacular
In May, Members showed their creative skills in decorating their spectacles for the VIEW competition.

Promoting VIEW
Shown on the left is a photo of a market stall that Ringwood VIEW Club ran at the end of March. We were offered a space at no cost at a local farmers market, so we took the opportunity to promote VIEW and to fundraise for our Learning for Life students.
Members pooled their bric-a-brac collections, family members helped with setting up and packing up, and 5-6 ladies assisted on the day. It turned out to be a beautiful, sunny day and we turned the work into a fun experience.
The opportunity came from one of our guest speakers, who is a Lion’s Club member, which organises the market. They regularly offer a market space to groups who might benefit from the opportunity, and to whom an extra few hundred dollars might make a difference. The club also donated the profits from their market BBQ to us, which really helped with our fundraising.
We are a small club and are hoping to increase our membership but we do find fundraising difficult at times, so this was a fabulous boost to us and a wonderful example of community groups working together to help each other in their respective causes.

Embracing Equity in 2023
Three suffragettes greeted members of VA01 zone as they arrived for Heidelberg VIEW Club’s IWD celebration. Suzanne, Roz and Jenny proudly channelled the suffragettes of the past who fought for women’s right to vote. Members arrived wearing the colours of purple, teal and white; suffragist colours and also, fittingly, our VIEW colours. Like the suffragettes of old, VIEW women raise their voices for change for the common good.
